Creating a self-portrait isn’t as simple as I thought it would be because it forced me to look into myself and wonder who am I, what defines me. The idea of using pictures to depict myself came pretty easily as I thought what a better way to describe myself than to use the way I see the world, and using pictures from my camera roll, that I took and represent the world through my eyes and then use only one picture of myself that my dad took, to represent how the world sees me and then use pictures of drawings that I made to represent, again, to represent the way I see the world. With all those pictures I decided to create a photomontage to assemble them together, linking them with a few white stripes and drawing a bit over it and decorate it the way I wanted to because it’s my self portrait so why not. As I said earlier, I used pictures from my camera roll and those pictures represent as you can see libraries, flowers, lots and lots of flowers, the sea, random things such as candles and these are just some random things that I see and think waw this is the world, I like it and it amazes me so I use them and decide to capture them with my camera. We don’t see much of the outside of me but more of the inside. And then I used a picture of the sea to make the reflection. I decided to do the same as Hockney by using an iPad to make this self-portrait, obviously not with the same talent but I tried my best. So yeah, this is my
self-portrait.

I chose this reflection game to explain this passion of mine and part of my life.
Firstly, we can see a close-up of me to understand who we're talking about. But do we only see me? No. Thanks to the reflection game, in the rear-view mirror, we notice an image of two friends in "lehenga", an Indian dress. So why does this image represent me? Quite simply because I've spent two-thirds of my life as an expatriate in Africa. I've kept many contacts, including American friends. Friends I'll keep for life. That's how I came to visit my African friends in India. And why is it such a passion? It's a passion because travel has become natural and important, but also because it takes us out of our familiar environment, our routine and our comfort zone. It's an adventure !!!!! I think that today, having spent my whole life travelling the world, nothing could stop me.

So my autoportrait at first glance represents me looking at my reflection in the mirror but the reflection seems different from me. Indeed part of my hair is red and the other part is blue but why is that ? The blue part represent the part of me that just wants to dye his hair and the red part represent my colorblindness because I don’t see the color brown which means that everyone with brown hair normally, have red hair from my perspective. And to finish, on the counter in front of the mirror, there are two things that represents me the most which are a nintendo switch because I love playing video games and I would like to have a part time job in video games if possible in the future and the second item is a manga entitled “Bleach” which is my favorite of all time, I just love the universe because even 20 years after the manga ended there’s still many questions and mysteries to solve.
